A fight between two co-wives spilled into court yesterday.
Tinotenda Pirimo told the court that her husband’s first wife, Anna Makoni, physically and verbally abuses her, and asked for a protection order.
Magistrate Tamara Chibindi granted Tinotenda the protection order.
“She came to my house and started assaulting me and breaking my property before pushing me, and my minor child sustained injuries,” she said.
In response, Anna told the court that she bought a stand with her husband and was surprised to find that Tinotenda is staying there.
“We purchased the residential stand together with my husband and when I went to the stand, I found her staying at the stand.
“She is the one who then started assaulting me and we fought,” said Anna.
Anna was asked by the court if she still has a reason to continue going to the said stand since the junior wife was staying there.
“Yes, because we purchased the stand together with my husband and he ran away to stay with her there.”
Magistrate Chibindi granted the application and ordered Anna not to verbally or physically assault Tinotenda or visit her place of residence.
