A HARARE woman went to the Harare Civil Court seeking a protection order against her sister-in-law, who she says harasses her.
Maybee Chichitike accused her sister-in-law, Maud Kusa, of verbal abuse and harassment since the death of her husband.
“This month she came to my place and harassed me in front of my co-tenants when we were coming from a funeral.
“She started abusing me back in 2014, but I just kept quiet since she is my husband’s sister.”
In her defence, Maud denied the allegations saying they provoked each other, which led to the fight.
Maud said she has two other sisters-in-law, but they are not problematic like Chichitike, who always badmouths her.
“She is aware of why we fought, but doesn’t want to disclose it to the court. We fought over the issue that her son, who was accused of raping his sister, didn’t want to move out.
“She is trying to evict my family from the homestead where we grew up together.”
Magistrate Tamara Chibindi dismissed the application due to lack of merit.
