Wizkid drops first single of the year

LAGOS. – Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Wizkid has finally dropped his first official single for the year.

The new track is titled ‘‘Bad To Me,’’ and the iconic singer did his due diligence further again.

The latest song, ‘‘Bad To Me,’’ landed at midnight.

Wizkid teamed up with talented music producer PJ2 for the Amapiano-infused tune.

The track kick-started with an addictive verse spiked with a solid string instrumental that takes listeners through the remarkable ride to enjoy the song. Wizkid has never boxed himself into a particular genre.

He keeps trying new styles of music, infusing different rhythms together to produce exceptional sounds that befit his enviable vocals.

Wizkid, on ‘‘Bad To Me,’’ expanded his stance to push his musical prowess even further and showcased why he is indeed the most influential Afrobeats musician on the planet right now.

Although the song didn’t sound totally new, his production team might have sampled different elements and styles from popular sounds and carefully merged them with Wizkid’s to create ‘‘Bad To Me.’’

Drum rolls, lyrics, chorus, and post-chorus of ‘‘Bad To Me’’ are exceptional in arrangements. The melodies and harmonies are worth applauding; the song slaps hard.

‘‘Bad To Me’’ is also the first song from Wizkid since he released the deluxe edition of ‘‘Made In Lagos,’’ last year.

Well, the wait is worth it. – withinnigeria.com.
