POLICE Deputy Commissioner-General, Mind Ngirandi, has hailed Team Zimbabwe for its fine show at the SARPCCO Games.
Ngirandi arrived here yesterday ahead of the official closing of the Games at Uhuru Stadium today.
Ngirande was welcomed by Team Zimbabwe’s head of delegation, Commissioner Abigail Moyo, at Julius Nyerere International Airport.
He had the opportunity to watch Team Zimbabwe’s men’s and women’s volleyball sides in action, against hosts Tanzania. He also watched the men’s football team’s game against Namibia.
Ngirande hailed the squad for its focus and determination to defend the regional title.
“We are proud of our participants for their resilience,” said DCG Ngirande.
“Defending the overall SARPCCO winners’ trophy for the sixth time in a row shows total dedication and commitment.
“We cannot win all games, as some participants are still learning and this was their opportunity to take a leaf from the experienced ones.
“But, generally, we are all happy with Team Zimbabwe,” he said.
The team is expected to lift the overall SARPCCO winners’ trophy for the sixth consecutive time.
