Woman accuses step mum of killing her father, brother

A HARARE woman has accused her stepmother of allegedly killing her father and brother.

Memory Mutandwa is also being accused of threatening to evict her stepmother, Josephine Chisango, from the family house.

Josephine has since applied for a protection order against Memory, citing verbal and physical abuse.

“She insults and assaults me, threatening to kick me out of my late husband’s house.

“She accused me of bewitching my late husband and stepson,” said Josephine.

In response, Memory told the court that a prophet had confirmed her allegations that Josephine had bewitched her late father and brother.

“After my late brother’s burial, we went to an apostolic shrine as a family to consult. We were told that my stepmother was behind my father’s and brother’s deaths.

“She confessed as per the prophet’s instructions,” Memory said.

In her ruling, magistrate Sharon Mashavire, granted the protection order, in Josephine’s favour.
