POLICE have arrested a woman in Epworth after she allegedly stole an infant from Epworth Local Board Clinic yesterday.

Josie Muzimbe reportedly sneaked into the clinic ward where she took advantage of the infant’s mother who had fallen asleep and stole the baby girl from her.

Her luck ran out after an alert security guard intercepted her while trying to leave the clinic premises.

National police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the incident adding that investigations into the matter are in progress.

“We urge institutions like hospitals and clinics to step up their security measures and avoid such incidents. Investigations into this case are progressing.”

A video clip has since gone viral, where Muzimbe was captured being interrogated by alleged staff at the said clinic.
