Woman arrested for trying to kill husband

A WOMAN from Nyamandlovu in Umguza District allegedly struck her husband with an axe following a misunderstanding with the man’s son, a Bulawayo provincial magistrate heard yesterday.Mr Abednico Ndebele heard this during the appearance of Lindiwe Tshuma (33) who is facing a charge of attempted murder.
This was after she allegedly complained to her husband about the behaviour of his son from another woman but whose details were not given in court.

Tshuma was not asked to plead to the offence and was remanded in custody to 3 September.
The court advised her to approach the High Court for bail.

The State led by Mr Malvern Nzombe would seek to prove that on 12 August while at Lukukwe area in Nyamandlovu, Tshuma had a misunderstanding with her husband Mr Lameck Tshuma.

Tshuma, of Forestry Commission Quarters in Nyamandlovu allegedly complained about the boy’s  behaviour and when Mr Tshuma left for his bedroom, she picked up an axe and followed him.

The court was told that she struck him once on the chin and he sustained a deep cut. It is alleged that soon after committing the offence, Tshuma fled from the home and was arrested on Monday.
