According to court papers, on July 14 at around 7pm, Mr Mthombo Nyoni (60) was drinking beer at Chibuswa Bar in Kasibo while sitting next to another reveller, Mr Zwela Nyathi.

The court heard that Mr Nyoni asked Mr Nyathi to buy him beer and this did not go down well with Sibanda who was in Mr Nyathi’s company.

She went on to push the elderly man outside the bar resulting in him falling to the ground and sustaining injuries.

A report was made to the police leading to Sibanda’s arrest.

In another unrelated case, a Binga man appeared before the same magistrate for allegedly indecently assaulting his nine-year-old daughter.

The 51-year-old man who pleaded not guilty, allegedly grabbed the complainant who is in Grade Two by her waist before placing her between his thighs.

He was remanded in custody until tomorrow for judgment.

The State alleges that on July 25, 2021 at around 10am, the complainant and her sister were sent by their mother to call their older sister who was at home.

On their way, they met the accused who is their father.

The accused then grabbed the complainant by the waist before lifting her and placing her between his thighs.

The complainant’s sister told the father to stop what he was doing and then he released her.

The matter was reported to the police leading to the accused’s arrest.
