A HARARE woman yesterday claimed US$250 maintenance for the upkeep of her two-year-old child.
Yvonne Bosha hauled her former husband, Misheck Billard, to the Maintenance Court, saying she needed the money for the welfare of their minor child.
“I am claiming that amount so that I can take care of the child. I want to pay rentals, buy food and pay medicals,” Yvonne said.
However, Misheck said he could not afford to pay the amount being claimed by Yvonne and offered US$50.
“My offer is US$50 because that is what I can afford to pay. The amount she is claiming is too much for me,” he said.
Yvonne turned down his offer saying it is not enough.
Magistrate Ayanda Dhlamini ordered Misheck to pay US$70 maintenance per month.
