Woman demands sex from father-in-law

A 44-YEAR-OLD woman from Insiza District in Matabeleland South, pulled a shocker when she challenged her father-in-law to sleep with her during a traditional court sitting last Monday.Mrs Soneni Maphosa allegedly exchanged harsh words with her father-in-law, Mr Robert Maphosa, who was accusing her of dating a fellow villager.

Mrs Maphosa’s husband is said to be in South Africa.

“We had to take the matter to the chief after we failed to solve it at village level,” said Headman Mark Ndlovu of Ndwangu Line near Mahole.

“The issue is that the father-in-law was accusing his daughter-in-law of having an extra-marital affair with another villager since her husband is away in South Africa. The father-in-law wanted to evict his daughter from her homestead and that prompted the woman to approach us. As the headman, I failed to solve the matter as both parties were throwing all sorts of insults at each other,” said Headman Ndlovu.

He said all hell broke loose at the traditional court when the woman challenged her father-in-law to take over the sexual responsibilities of his son.

“The woman surprised everyone when she asked her father-in-law to satisfy her sexual needs. She said no one had the right to monitor what she was doing and with whom as her husband had spent many years without paying her a visit from South Africa,” said Headman Ndlovu.

“In this case, she might have been telling her father-in-law that she was sexually starved, hence she had the right to look for someone to satisfy her.”

Contacted for comment, Chief Ndube watered down the incident, saying the woman uttered the words because she was overwhelmed by emotions.

“The incident of course happened,” Chief Ndube said.

“The woman was angry as she believed the accusations that were being made against her were not true. Every normal human being tends to say some words driven by anger not necessarily meaning what he or she would be saying. She said those words with no intention of asking her father-in-law to sleep with her. However, we managed to solve the issue and I hope wherever they are, there is peace between the two.”
