Woman endures 13-year sexual torment from snake

SEX with a snake is too creepy a thing to be taken lightly.

Thata��s the issue bothering a 23-year-old Gutu woman scared of closing her eyes just in case the reptile in the habit of sleeping with her does the usual.

Florence Ganya of Dziva Village under Chief Makore told B-Metro that the snake had been going to bed with her for more than a decade. She even reported it to the police.

a�?For 13 years the snake has been having sex with me. I reported the matter to the police but they cannot help because it borders on witchcraft,a�? said Ganya.

If her word is true, then the snake has been feasting on her since she was 10 years old.

She blames her grandmother who she moved in with after the death of her mother.

a�?She set the snake on me when I was at primary school. I would dream being kissed by it,a�? she said.

Because of the snake she has no man in her life and when she ran away to stay in Chivhu with her father, the snake followed her and she went back to Gutu where she got a short reprieve from a sangoma. But without he grandmothera��s co-operation, the snake slithered back into her life.

a�?I could not remain there (Chivhu) for long. I was ordered to come back to have the problem addressed by my grandmother and shea��s not willing to help,a�? she said.

She described how the snake makes moves on her.

a�?At times I see it approaching me and then suddenly feel hypnotised. It gets closer and I actually feel it penetrate me,a�? she said.

If it were not for Chief Makore she would have committed suicide just to find peace.

a�?Ganya brought her complicated issue to my courta��s attention. Unfortunately our law does not recognise witchcraft but this is pure witchcraft. What I have managed to do is to counsel the woman against taking her own life.
She had developed suicidal tendencies,a�? said Chief Makore.

Chief Makore said the snake was once removed from the grandmothera��s homestead by a sangoma last year but the elderly woman denied ownership of the reptile.

A Masvingo Prophet Isaac Makomichi said it was a bad spirit which was manifested on her by an enemy.

a�?I think this can only be addressed by a prophet in church. Ganya has a spiritual husband that the enemy has put on her and that spirit can only disappear when she goes to church or to a prophet who has a gift of deliverance,a�? said Prophet Makomichi.
