A woman yesterday told a Harare magistrate that she hid in the bush every night whenever her abusive husband came home drunk.
Evidence Chinouya said she fled from her home and slept in the bush as her drunk husband Tonderai Manatsa would physically abuse her over petty issues.
This was revealed at the Harare civil court where Chinouya was seeking a protection order against Manatsa.
“I had to run away from our matrimonial home because he was in the inclination of physically and verbally abusing me over nothing. At times he threatens to kill me,” she said.

“This man abused me economically because whenever we cultivated tobacco together he diverted all the profits to his own use denying me of my share.”
Magistrate Masinire granted Chinouya the protection order which barred Manatsa from verbally or physically abusing her.
