A HARARE woman was yesterday granted a protection order from her abusive husband.
Memory Nhashi proved to magistrate Tamara Chibindi that her husband, Leadmore Chamunorwa, had bashed her and she ended up losing four teeth.
She said Leadmore has been threatening to throw her out of their matrimonial home.
“He assaulted me to the extent of losing my front teeth.
“Last week, he threatened to beat me up until I was badly wounded,” Memory said. In his response, Leadmore argued that Memory was the cause of their problems.
“She is always provoking me.
“I usually restrain Memory from throwing dirt into my tuck shop and she attacks me.
“She has been arguing that I should not sell chickens from my shop because she suspects that the woman I order the chickens from is my girlfriend.
“She has a problem with everyone, even her mother.
“They don’t get along,” said Leadmore.
In her ruling, magistrate Chidindi, ordered Leadmore not to physically or verbally abuse Memory.
