A Harare woman left the court all smiles after her maintenance claim was granted.

Alima Malaunda appeared at the Harare Civil Court demanding $1 500 000 maintenance from her former husband, Simbarashe Mupambavatyi.

“I need $ 1 500 000 maintenance for our one child.

“Currently he is employed by the Mashonaland MPC and he is not yet married,” she said.

Magistrate Sharon Mashavira asked her if she was aware about Simbararshe’s earnings.

Alima claimed that Simbarashe realises 80 percent US component of his total salary plus $2 000 000 and she knows that because their salaries are always displayed on the notice board.

Simbarashe was in default to answer to the claims made.

Magistrate Mashavira ruled in Alima’s favour and in default Simbarashe was ordered to pay $ 1 500 000 as maintenance.
