A GLEN Norah woman has been given an 18-month jail term for possession of dagga worth $210 000.
Theresa Mukumba,45, was intercepted in Beitbridge by ZIMRA officers, while coming from South Africa.
According to the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), Theresa was arrested on January 24 with 2.1kgs of dagga.
“Theresa Mukumba, who was travelling from South Africa, was intercepted by Zimra canine officers and arrested at Beitbridge Border Post.
“The dagga was subsequently seized and weighed 2.1kgs and had a street value of $210 000.
“The accused was arraigned before the courts and after a short trial was sentenced on February 13 to 24 months imprisonment, with six months being suspended for five years on condition accused does not commit an offence involving possession or dealing in dangerous drugs.
“She will serve an effective 18 months imprisonment,” said the NPA.
