IT could have been a major theft!
A woman who attempted to leave Way Inn supermarket in Kwekwe with plates, umbrellas, diaries, pumps, baskets, books, bed sheets, sunhats, socks, bangles, and shoes among other goods was caught at the last check point.
Memory Ndlovu (32), from Zhombe could have had a mini supermarket had she succeeded.
However, her luck ran out when a suspicious guard followed her and asked for a receipt which she failed to produce.
The guard then alerted the police who took her for questioning where she confessed to stealing the goods.
Kwekwe Magistrate, Lavroe Philemon, sentenced her to nine months behind bars wholly suspended on condition that she performs community service at a clinic in Zhombe.
Asked why she stole the goods, Ndlovu said she wanted to fend for her four children who are of school going age. . .
