A BID by a Harare woman to seek a protection order against ex-husband’s wife, whom she accused of abusing her son, flopped yesterday.

Winnie Musona applied for a protection order against her ex-husband’s wife, Glenda Mukush, for allegedly abusing her son. The application was thrown out, by magistrate Tamara Chibindi, because she didn’t state that she was representing her minor child.

“I separated from my husband in 2019 and left my son with him before he married Glenda. Glenda is a stepmother to my son and they stay in Norton, she is abusing my son by not giving him food, clothes, and assaulting him.

“Your Worship, I want to take my son back as soon as schools close haana moyo wekubereka mukadzi uyu.”

Winnie added: “My son told me last holiday that he is being harassed by his stepmother and his dad has no say about it,” she said. Glenda opposed the application. “I never harassed her son but she has a tendency of coming to my house taking her son anytime and whenever she returns her child she will be insulting me that I am abusing her son. “She must come and take her son since she is still alive ngawaitewo moyo wekubereka wagare nemwana wavo.”
