Woman murders daughter

A 32-year-old Hurungwe woman was recently arrested for allegedly killing her eight-year-old daughter over a missing US$10 note.
Fidas Ndarota has since appeared before Karoi magistrate Ms Sheila Nazombe charged with murder. Prosecutor Mr Gerald Dhamusi told the court that on January 31 this year, Ndarota sent her daughter – Faith – to make some purchases at the shops.
However, Faith lost the money along the way and it is alleged that Ndarota, in a fit of rage, assaulted her with sticks.
Faith later died from the injuries she sustained, with the post-mortem showing that the death was due to a fractured cervical spine (a broken neck). Ms Nazombe advised Ndarota to apply for bail at the High Court.
