An elderly woman who was recently granted a protection order against her abusive 20-year-old daughter has demanded to have her evicted from her home.
Caroline Ndlovu, 67, of Dombodema area in Bulilima said her daughter, Koziba Ncube, who is nursing a month-old baby, her second child, had not stopped her violent ways as she was continuously insulting her and threatening to kill her.
A seemingly repentant Ncube begged to be pardoned and promised to change her ways and live with her mother peacefully.
Ndlovu said her daughter had resumed her promiscuous ways as she was sleeping around with different men.
“I don’t know what is wrong with this child. It seems she can’t say no to a man. She leaves her baby alone at home and heads to the business centre to meet different men. She has no morals at all as she even sleeps with men by the roadside,” charged Ndlovu.
She said each time she tried to counsel her, Ncube would lash out at her in rage, hurling insults that included mentioning her private parts.
Ndlovu said her daughter would even threaten to kill her at times.
She said her daughter has just given birth to her second child by a different man and she wanted her out of her home before she fell pregnant again.
Ndlovu said the father of her daughter’s second child had expressed willingness to marry her but she ran away after declaring that she could not live with one man only.
Ncube’s case was withdrawn before plea after she cried and pleaded with her mother to give her a second chance.
In the end, Ndlovu pardoned her and gave her an ultimatum to change her behaviour or risk being thrown out of the family house.
Ncube, who is not employed and is said not to be in good books with her other relatives, depends on her mother for sustenance.
The elderly woman recently disowned her abusive daughter in court indicating that she would not acknowledge her as her daughter anymore because of the harsh treatment she was receiving from her.
She said her daughter could not even write her own name despite having attended school up to Grade Seven.
Ndlovu said she had tried sending her daughter to school after the death of her father but she refused.
She said she also tried to encourage her daughter to take up family planning methods but she refused.
Ndlovu was granted a protection order again Ncube in April this year which restricted her from entering her mother’s house. The order also prohibited her from insulting, assaulting or intimidating the complainant.
