A 27-year-old Old Marimba woman has landed in the dock for the alleged murder of her husband.

Rachel Gomba was denied bail when she appeared before Harare Magistrate Dennis Mangosi, who remanded her to November 9.

She was advised to approach the High Court for bail application.

The State said Gomba had a misunderstanding with her now late husband, Paddy Mlambo, when he returned home on Monday morning.

He had spent three days away from home.

The court heard that Mlambo had not informed his wife about his whereabouts for those three days.

On the fateful day, it is alleged that Mlambo arrived home at around 6am and the two started quarrelling.

The quarrelling escalated into an altercation and Gomba stabbed her husband with a kitchen knife on the right thigh.

He bled excessively and was rushed to Sally Mugabe Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

This led to the arrest of Gomba.

Pardon Dziva appeared for the State.
