A HARARE woman appeared before the Harare Civil Courts seeking a protection order against her boyfriend’s wife whom she accused of assaulting and insulting her in public
Mary Sibanda alleged that Johanna Dima visits her workplace regularly to insult her.
“This woman comes to my workplace and my home to insult me and at one point she came when l had knocked off and started following and shouting at me,” she said.
“l refused to talk to her, then she pulled my braids and choked me. She calls me and insults me, calling me all sorts of names and she even comes to my house to cause problems for me with my landlord.
“When l started dating her husband, I did not know that he was married, but when he later told me, l didn’t leave him because he said that he wanted to marry me.”
Dima denied all the allegations levelled against her.
“I did not do anything that she said l did. I did not go to her house, but we live in the same neighbourhood, that is why we see each other most of the time. l tried engaging her but she always refused and insulted me.
“I also do not go to her workplace, but she works at a pharmacy that is at the shopping centre near our home, where we buy things, and I buy medication for my child there and I do not go there looking for her,” she said
The presiding magistrate Meenal Narotham granted the peace order to maintain peace between both parties.
