A MAN who assaulted his girlfriend who was too tired to have sex has been spared jail. Admire Kashiki, 35, of Makokoba in Bulawayo, totally lost it after his lover, Priscilla Chizhande, spurned his sexual demands.
Kashiki, who is self-employed, slapped Chizhande several times and sunk his nails in her neck, a Bulawayo magistrate heard yesterday.
“l was really angered by her refusal to have sex with me when she’s my girlfriend. l didn’t expect that from her,” Kashiki told magistrate Sibongile Msipa-Marondedze as he pleaded to be spared jail.
The magistrate sentenced Kashiki to three months in prison, which were wholly suspended on condition he is not convicted of a violence-related offence in the next five years.
Msipa-Marondedze said in passing sentence: “l took into consideration what you stated in mitigation that you’ve one child and you’re unemployed and survive through piece jobs – meaning you’re self-employed. You need to take care of yourself and your child. A custodial sentence isn’t suitable for a first-time offender.”
Nkathazo Dlodlo, for the State, said last Saturday at around 9PM, Kashiki went to Chizhande’s place of residence which is three houses away from his home.
“When he got into the house, he asked to have sexual intercourse with Chizhande,” said Dlodlo.
Chizhande told him she was too tired as she had spent the whole day at a funeral.
