A HARARE woman pleaded with a magistrate to protect her from her abusive husband.

Tinashe Chishiri told Harare Civil Court magistrate, Tamara Chibindi, that her husband, Tinashe Mushandu, always finds a reason to assault her.

“He assaults me almost every time for no reason or even slight mistakes.

“He insults me using obscenities and also threatens me.

“I am now living in fear that he can do something terrible to me and I am, therefore, asking for protection from this man,” she said.

Mushandu opposed the application and denied all his wife’s accusations.

“I do not insult or assault her. I was shocked when I was served with court papers.

“The problem started when I took our children from my mother-in-law,” he said.

Magistrate Chibindi granted the order.
