A 33-year-old man was yesterday arraigned before the courts for allegedly stealing cash and property amounting to $2 950 from his girlfriend.

Kudzai Sekenhamo denied the allegations when he appeared before Mbare magistrate Ms Bianca Makwande charged with theft.

Ms Makwande remanded him to June 19 on $100 bail.

As part of his bail conditions, Sekenhamo was ordered to reside at the address he gave to the court and not to interfere with the witnesses.

The prosecutor Ms Revai Mudozori alleged that sometime in March this year Catherine Kamudyariwa gave Sekenhamo $1 550 to buy cattle on her behalf.

The court heard that Sekenhamo did not buy the cattle as per agreement.

It is alleged that in that same month Kamudyariwa gave Sekenhamo $800 to buy her bales of second-hand clothes from Mozambique.

It is the State’s case that Sekenhamo failed to buy the bales.

Allegations are that Kamudyariwa also gave Sekenhamo a mobile phone to repair, but he failed to hand the phone back.

When Kamudyariwa inquired on what had happened to the money and phone, the accused reportedly gave unsatisfactory answers resulting in his arrest.
