A NUMBER of women, who want to give birth to twins, have been feasting on eggs with double yolks, which they believe boosts their chances of getting twins.
This was revealed by Twins Association of Zimbabwe leaders, Farai Lawyer Katonha and Tendai Mayor Katonha.
The identical twins dismissed the myth.
“Our office has been inundated with calls from various women who want to be mothers of twins.
“Some of the women looking for twins have been inquiring from us if eating eggs with double yolks can give them some luck for them to have twin babies.
“A number of such women have been traveling long distances in search of such eggs.
“Some have been searching for some sweet potatoes and bananas, which have double sides.
“Vamwe varikutoenda kunedzimwe nyika dzakatipoteredza kunotenga mazai anemayoku maviri, mbambaira nema banana akabatana irivavariro yekuda kubereka matwins.”
The Katonha twins said many women, who have been blessed with twins, have been struggling to take care of the children.
“We are urging our communities, the church and corporate leaders to consider helping mothers with twin babies,” said Katonha.
