ZANU PF Secretary for Women’s Affairs, Cde Mabel Chinomona, has encouraged women in Mashonaland Central to support each other when campaigning for Parliamentary seats and to serve as role models for younger generations of women.

Currently, all 18 constituencies in the province are represented by men.

During a recent address in Mt Darwin, Cde Chinomona expressed her concern about the lack of representation of women in the province.

She stressed that the absence of female Members of Parliament from the area is disadvantageous for young girls.

“Last term, this province had no female MPs, and now you have gone through the quota system. You are hindering yourselves,” she said.

” Women are excelling in small to medium enterprises, but they are hesitant to participate in decision-making processes.

“Wake up, no one will stand for you. By voting, you have the power to nominate female leaders to work with President Mnangagwa.”

She also urged women to collaborate and support those MPs who were nominated through the quota system, as some of them are reportedly facing resistance.
