A group of women worshippers recently began conducting virtual meetings, which have increasingly become useful as billions around the world are in lockdown owing to the coronavirus.
The women, who are from different church denominations dotted around the world, started meeting last week on a platform called Women in Worship.
Speaking during the meeting, Pastor Glenda Mirror said the purpose of the meeting was to reach and fellowship with women from different denominations during the lockdown.
Zimbabwe is in its seventh week of a Covid-19-induced national lockdown, whose regulations banned church gatherings.
Most churches have begun embracing online platforms and virtual meetings.
“This is our first meeting and the purpose is to fellowship with women from different denominations.
We are calling on all women to come and join us,” said Pastor Mirror.
Meeting administrator, Tendayi Hlupo Mamvura, said it was important for women to keep “gathering” during the pandemic. “There are women in the Bible that continued to pray during different crises. We should continue praying for our countries during this pandemic,” she said.
