[Updated] WORLD CUP: Nigeria Skips Training Over Appearance Fees

It seems our African nations at the World Cup are at it again regarding appearance fee payments. Nigeria’s national team The Super Eagles, canceled a scheduled training session on Thursday [26 June 2014] after a meeting to demand World Cup appearance bonuses dragged on till late.

According to online sources, the players wanted to be paid the appearance fee agreed with the federation for making it past the World Cup group stages.

The squad are due to leave for Brasilia on this afternoon ahead of their last 16 meeting against France on Monday [30 June 2014]. It is not yet certain if they will travel. – KickoffNigeria.com

UPDATE: Nigeria’s Team Captain Joseph Yobo says the players have resolved to the issue behind them and focus on football. The Super Eagles have agreed to fly to Brasilia for their match on Monday with France. – KickoffNigeria.com
