BLACK Rhinos coach, Nesbert “Yabo” Saruchera, says his players are working hard in their bid to try and make a quick return to the domestic Premiership.
The two-time Zimbabwe champions are celebrating the 40th anniversary of the year they first won the league championship in this country in 1984.
Brighton Christopher’s second minute strike was all that Rhinos needed to hand stubborn Agama their second defeat of the season at Heart Stadium B Arena on Friday.
“It was a good performance from the boys, they defended resolutely and we managed to get all the three points. This is a morale booster after last week’s result in Chinhoyi, it gives us confidence to continue pressing on.
“We have been working hard and we are working as a team. The games are coming at a fast pace as the race gathers momentum so we have to stay focused.
“We will try to remain in the championship race by collecting maximum points as many times as we can. I am happy with the progress we are making so far as a team,” said Saruchera.
Agama coach, Partson Muzavazi, was disappointed by the result.
“I am disappointed, we conceded a soft goal and we could not manage to fight back until the end. We are going to work on our conversion as it has been the biggest let down today.
“We have a good side considering it is our first season in the league and we are doing well,” said Muzavazi.
In another top-of-the-table match, ambitious Scottland humbled former leaders Harare City 1-0 at Rufaro.
Scottland, who were reduced to ten man in the first half, fought hard to get the positive result which gave Sunshine Boys coach, Ikabort Masocha, his second defeat.
Meanwhile, in the Central Region, Sheasham recorded probably the biggest win in years when they walloped Bisopstone 11-0.
