YADAH Stars coach Expense Chitukutuku delayed perhaps the most anticipated moment in local football by choosing not to hand his recently acquired Brazilian trio their local debut in a 1-0 victory over FC Platinum in Zvishavane on Saturday.
The trio which has been the talk in football circles watched Yadah’s victory over FC Platinum from the terraces.
Leading to the game, many had hoped the Brazilians would feature in the match day squad.
However, it wasn’t to be.
Chitukutuku says the trio will be part of his match day squad for their next game against Chicken Inn who are reeling from a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Dynamos.
“They will be part of the squad next week when we face Chicken Inn. For this one we felt they will be a bit jet-legged but they will be available next week,” said Chitukutuku.
Yadah Stars are the first-ever team in local top-flight to have Brazilian players in their ranks, after signing three from the South American country.
The Prophet Walter Magaya-owned side last week unveiled midfielders Pereira DeBrito Deivid (20), Luciano Farias Juan (21) and Marques Barcelos as their new acquisitions on two-year contracts.
The move created lots of debate not only because it was a shock but also how and why Brazilian players have been registered by a local club.
Yadah FC was originally formed as Gunners in 2005 by Cuthbert Chitima.
Gunners was later on purchased by Walter Magaya in 2014.
