Yadah TV Cup game rescheduled

Ellina Mhlanga Sports Reporter
WORLD Navi Northern Region Division One Soccer League chairman, Willard Manyengavana says they have been forced to move the Yadah TV Cup quarter-final match between Black Mambas and Flame Lilly to Chinhoyi in order to ensure that fans pay to watch the game.
The game had originally been set for Pfupajena, but Manyengavana said they had to switch to Chinhoyi after Chegutu Member of Parliament Dexter Nduna allegedly wanted fans to be allowed free entry.

“We have our first game on Saturday in Kariba and we are so excited because we will be playing at Nyamhunga. It’s going to be the first game since it was closed for renovations. We hope to have a lot of fans coming to support the two teams, Lake Harvest and Mushowani.

“Then on Sunday we have Black Mambas and Flame Lilly. Unfortunately, there are some developments in Chegutu. The honourable Member of Parliament said it should be for free.

“So we consulted the two teams, Mambas and Flame Lilly and they have since confirmed that they cannot play for free.
“We think it’s not proper for us to fight against the wishes of the MP. So we will move the game and give respect to the honourable MP. We are moving the game because the two teams do not agree to playing for free,” said Manyengavana.

The tournament kicked off on the weekend of September 11-13 with the first two quarter-finals being played in Harare and Bindura.
Gunners and Ngezi Platinum are already in the semi-finals after winning their matches two weeks ago and Chando Kupisa will take on the winner between Lake Harvest and Mushowani while Ngezi will clash against either of Flame Lilly and Black Mambas in the last four.

Saturday: Lake Harvest v Mushowani (Nyamhunga Stadium).
Sunday: Flame Lilly v Black Mambas (Chinhoyi)
