Yadah’s Heart Stadium set to be opened next month

YADAH Football Club have said they intend to commission and open their Heart Stadium, which has been under construction in Waterfalls, in the first weekend of next month.

They say it will be a ‘game-changer’ for the capital, whose major clubs have been struggling for a suitable home and playing their matches in Gweru, Zvishavane and Bulawayo.

They have released a model of the stadium they are building at their complex.

Prophet Walter Magaya says he will open the first phase of the project, fitted with 5000 bucket seats.

“The stadium is nearly complete, all the work in the turf has been completed and there are underground tunnels for the drainage system and Yadah are expecting to use the stadium in their next PSL home match.

“Construction will continue in the other phases but we believe that, after the first phase, the stadium will be ready to host local PSL matches.

“That’s why we are opening it in the first weekend of September.”

He said he did not want to release images of the current work because “with the work we are doing 24 hours a day, the picture would have changed tomorrow.”

He added:

“But, we can now give you the model of the Heart Stadium we are constructing.

“A lot of work has been put into the project and we have people working 24 hours because we determined to provide something significant for our football.”
