LAIFORD Yadyo will be one of the highly-rated local professional golf players who will tee off in the official Golden Pilsener Zimbabwe Open pre-qualifiers round at Chapman this morning. Yadyo, who had decent outings in the last local events, is hopeful he will do well in the event and carry the form into the weekend. The Wingate-based professional faces several other golf players who will fight for the reserved slots.
“I think the practice round we had yesterday will gave us some good warm-up and I am looking forward to a good outing and carry the form into the event,” said Yadyo. The event is important to every player and it is good to take part in the most prestigious tournament on the local scene.
“It will be tough competition but I will try and focus on the game. We will have a huge field but I look forward to doing something better.”
“The professional golfer last year went through the exemption after he was in the top 15 of the Zambezi Tour.
The pre-qualifying round begins this morning and the players who will make it will join several others to make the field to play at Royal Harare.
