Yizo Yizo/Zone 14 actor Tshepo Ngwane dies

TSHEPO Ngwane, better known for his role as Thiza on popular drama series Yizo Yizo, has died. The actor, who had reportedly been bed-ridden for two weeks at Jabulani Hospital in Johannesburg, South Africa, died on Tuesday at the age of 39. The news of his death was confirmed by a family friend.

Ngwane was born in Mpumalanga in 1976 and started receiving acting gigs after moving to Johannesburg in 1998. His first acting gig was as Mandla on Backstage in 2001. He gained popularity when he appeared in Yizo Yizo, a drama that took the television scene by storm.

He starred in other local shows including Jozi Streets, Rize Mzansi, Tshisa as ‘Kojak’ and Zone 14 as “Dr Mdu Sibiya” who was in love with his brother’s wife, Nina, played by Thembi Seete.

Meanwhile, house music artiste, Heavy K popularly known as the Drumboss, was also hit hard this week after losing his mother on Tuesday, a day after he welcomed his first baby boy.

“Yesterday I was the happiest guy on earth because I just had my first kid! My son was born!” said the Drumboss. But then he said: “My mother was so excited and today (Tuesday) she decided to leave me! Mama rest in peace. I never thought I would see this day so soon. I’m destroyed!”

Heavy K’s manager Lerato Masisi told Daily Sun this was a heavy blow for Heavy K.

“He appreciates the love and support that he’s been receiving from all his fans,” Masisi said.

“Heavy K is devastated. He was looking forward to his mother playing an important part in his newborn son’s life. When he shared the news of his new son with his mother she said she couldn’t wait to see the little bundle of joy. But sadly this never happened.” — Sowetan/DailySun.
