WILBERT Ndongwe, a 20-year-old entrepreneur from Harare, has launched an energy project called TransEnergies.
The goal of the project is to provide employment for young Zimbabweans in order to reduce drug use.
TransEnergies aims to provide energy to underdeveloped communities in Zimbabwe and across Africa.
Ndongwe hopes that the project will benefit from investment from individuals seeking such opportunities.
He advised other young people to find a mentor and to strive to be the best at what they do.
“Zimbabwe, on its own, has unlimited young intellectual capital that’s being wasted on drug abuse.
“The mere possibilities of what youths could bring on the table haunted me every day because I understand that everyone, despite geographical location, has a part to play to put Zimbabwe and Africa on the global radar.
“I have lost brothers who had the potential to do great things to drug abuse. “When I saw this, I decided to act quickly and create employment, create something to occupy these idle minds.”
He added:
“I believe that there are God-driven people out there looking for such projects to invest in and we as TransEnergies would appreciate any help,” he said.
