A 22-YEAR-OLD Chitungwiza chanter, who uses the moniker Young Fantan, is on fire!

Born Nicholas Mubaiwa, the singer recorded two songs at Chillspot Records, namely Kadhanzi Kekukwachuka and Tengai Hwahwa.

The songs have both been warmly embraced in Zimdancehall circles.

In an interview with H-Metro, the ambitious chanter praised DJ Fantan for making his dream of being a singer come true.

“DJ Fantan was the one who identified my talent and he urged me to record my projects at their stable,” said Young Fantan.

“His mentorship is now yielding results and I don’t have any regrets.

“However, it is my big body, which made people call me Young Fantan.

“I recorded videos of both songs and I am not stopping,” he said.

Added Young Fantan:

“I won’t be deterred by those who enjoy body shaming and would rather take that as inspiration.

“What is important at the moment is for people to embrace my talent and not this body shaming thing.”
