“As one of the youngest artistes in the industry, I had to tackle a number of challenges which I believe were conquered through perseverance, love and the support I got.
“As things were falling apart, I received a number of messages from all over the world but was humbled by the ones I got from Bulawayo music followers. This prompted me to pencil a show for sometime in April for Bulawayo music lovers,” said the young Igwe.
Moyo also said many artistes’ love for money had changed their focus.
“In as much as we need money for certain things, life does not revolve around money or wealth and as long as artistes have money at heart, their music will always lack a certain vibe.”

He said many artistes had now gone commercial, but when he is on stage he puts his followers first.
“I always give first preference to music followers because at some point when my father was in a critical state, money lost its value as it could not buy him health. This is why I want to stage meaningful shows, without thinking much about pocketing the profits,” he said.
The artiste has disappointed many “doubting Thomases” by staging energetic shows all over the country to prove his worth as the rightful heir to the late Tongai Moyo.
The young Igwe also said he would be releasing an album in October.
“My album will be released in October to mark a year since my father passed on. The five-track album is set to introduce a different feel to Utakataka Express,” he said.
Moyo also said the industry had a number of drawbacks and making it to the top called for an aggressive approach.
“Dating back to the days when my father passed on, I sought help from a number of people but some promises were never fulfilled.
“Being alone made me realise that one had to step up for change to prevail. Chipaz (Patson Chimbodza) encouraged me to work hard rather than expect things on a silver platter. This motivated me to fight for my space in the industry which I believe I can rub off to some of the up-and-coming artistes in Bulawayo,” he said.
The young artiste also said he would be performing alongside local artistes and Bulawayo fans were in for a treat.
