“We are serious about this match and we are confident that we will get early goals. Rufaro is back in the team and has promised me that she can score three goals.
“Her combination with Rutendo has been looking sharp at training and we are sure we will get the goals which we need.
“Rudo will be playing on the right and we hope the wing play with Mavis (Chirandu) on the left will work.
“They have been playing like that at training and it has shown that it can work,” said Giwa.
The coach is likely to retain the bulk of the team, which featured in the first leg.
During their practice session at Rufaro yesterday morning, the team also had a penalty shooting session as the match may be forced into a lottery should the hosts win 3-0.
But the gaffer said they are not aiming for any particular result and are covering all areas at training so that they are adequately prepared.
Goalkeeper Portia Mukucha, who kept the scoreline respectable in Abeokuta, will have to dig deep again as she battles to keep the Falconets at bay.
“I will continue from where I left and make sure that they don’t score an away goal.
“We have an advantage as we are playing at home in front of our supporters.
“I have observed that their strikers are not sharp shooters and their fullbacks are slow in reaction and if we use our wings well with fast play we can get goals,” said Mukucha.
Big striker Machingura, who scored a brace before she was sent off in the first round, first leg match against Mozambique, said she was looking forward to the big clash.
“We still have a chance and we have been playing some practice matches with men’s sides and doing well and even the coaches have said the team’s performance has improved.
“Stage fright might also have affected the team in Nigeria but now we are at home and I am just appealing to the fans to come out and cheer us and not boo us even if we make mistakes.
“Remember Nigeria is a big team but we will try our best. I will also do my best and score,”
Meanwhile, the team also received a boost from local companies such as Toyota Zimbabwe, Nestle Zimbabwe, Schweppes, Delta and Spar Athienitis who donated fuel, beverages, mineral water and water bottles.
The match will be handled by Julie Kanyembo from DRC and her compatriots Lukusa Kanjinga and Sacle Sakobo.
