Young Sables confident of victory

Craven Week rugby festival at the GWK Park rugby stadium.
Coming from a 68-3 bashing of Border Country Districts on Tuesday, the Young Sables have all the reason to believe that they can win today in their quest to finish the festival unbeaten.
The Young Sables held their training session yesterday morning at the Northern Cape High School before watching Namibia take on hosts Griquas.
Several changes have been made to the side that beat the South African provincial side on Tuesday and centre Preston Bryant, who has been moved to number nine, believes the changes will not affect their play if they stick to the game plan. Eight players have retained their place in the starting XV with fullback James Forrester, winger Tarisai Ndudzo, hooker Res Surtees, lock Robert Zee and flanker Tapiwa Tsomondo retaining their positions in the team.
Bryant has been moved from centre to scrummy, Takudzwa Chieza has been shifted from inside centre to outside centre and captain Gareth Meikle shifted from number eight to number 14.
New faces will be Junior Hlahla who is in for Kudakwashe Makuvire at loose-head prop, Andries van Heeden replaces Joshua Smallbones on tight-head prop, Kumbirai Makanza comes in for Mathew Lawson at number four with Tatenda Zinyemba settling in at eighth-man.
Flyhalf Samson Musiyarira comes in as a direct replacement for Luke Masasire with Andrew Wilkinson coming in at outside centre for Bryant while Clement Bruke-Jackson replaces Daniel Rorke at number seven.
However, Bryant is hoping the side will be able to emulate the Class of 2007 that made history by becoming the first side to win all three games at the festival since 1980. His brother Reggie was part of the side that was also under the same coach Godwin “Jaws” Murambiwa.
“We gelled well against Border CD and we clicked well in all the departments and that was the major factor that led us to win the game with such a margin.
“Confidence grew with each try we scored and the penalties we converted gave a lot of weight to our scoreline. I am hoping that we will win all the three games we are going to play and the win on Tuesday just gave us the much needed confidence and I am positive that we will be just like the teams that won all their three games a few years ago.
“My brother was part of that team and there is all the reason for me to believe that we can make it as well because when we came here we had targets and with each game we have to work hard and make sure we beat those set goals,” said Bryant.
While Zimbabwe were registering the biggest win at the festival so far, the Limpopo Blue Bulls were in tears following a 22-10 defeat at the hands of Griffons.
“The next game (today) is going to be different.
“Obviously the win was good for Zimbabwe and the boys, they carried the ball well and wide and the key to the win was that they stuck to the game plan.
“We won a lot of turnover balls but we cannot celebrate as yet.”
