Young Sables target improved performance against Canada

Shevardeni Stadium this afternoon hoping to pick themselves up from the two defeats they have suffered so far.
The Young Sables are hoping to put up a better performance that could see them end the tournament better placed than last year when thy came out seventh in the eight-team competition.
While Regis Mutangadura is set to celebrate his 20th birthday tomorrow, Graham Logan, who turned 20 yesterday, and Kuda Chiwanza, who also turned 20 on Sunday, have demanded perfect birthday presents. The trio believe Zimbabwe should win the game this afternoon if they are to go back home with something from this tournament that is expected to end on Sunday with positional play-offs.
“I am looking forward to it very much and we should be out to win as long as we play according to the game plan and if we are able to concentrate throughout the game.
“Practice went well and we need to keep the high spirit on.
“This is a must-win game and we need to improve from last year’s ranking where we finished seventh and a win against Canada will definitely give us that.
“But I am happy I have managed to maintain a starting jersey.
“We (the forwards) need to put in all the extra work, get the ball for our backs,” said Logan.
Three changes have been made to the side that took on hosts Georgia on Saturday and this has seen prop Dalroy Sibanda getting his first start of the tournament at number one while Murray Bryce-Rodgers has been moved to tight head. The change has been forced due to the unavailability of Ian Muza who suffered a hamstring injury in the game against Georgia. Simba Gonese, who was at the bench in the last game, also gets his first start of the tournament at open-side flank, and has directly replaced Tatenda Chikaka.
The other change has seen Sean Linfield getting the nod ahead of Tom Nelson at fly-half.
Nelson also came in as a second half substitute against Georgia.
Despite Zimbabwe falling to Georgia, the side has seen two of their players – wingers Justin Coles and Chiwanza – being named among the five best tries scored in the tournament so far.
Both tries came against Georgia, showing how good the Zimbabwe back line has been in the tournament when they get the ball.
