HERENTALS Under-20 coach, Paul Benza, believes having a Premiership side has motivated them to raise their game in the ZIFA Northern Region Division One League.
The Young Students currently top the Northern Region Soccer League with 54 points from 24 games.
Second-placed Simba Bhora are just a point behind and Golden Eagles are third on 50 points.
The Young Students have gone toe-to-toe with title favourites, Simba Bhora and Golden Eagles, despite being just a developmental side.
The reality is that Benza’s men have shown great determination to win the title and have topped the table for a large part of the season.
They travel for a tricky tie against Banket United tomorrow.
“We are always prepared to do our best.
“Our expectation is to give our all competitively and give our fans entertaining football.
“They have the home advantage, but we are not worried about that because our aim is to compete well under different environments.
“Having a team with players vying to move up to our senior team, or other Premiership clubs, is what drives the boys.
“Everyone is always ready to give their best.
“As a result, the team is always guaranteed positive results,” he said.
Banket will play the match at their Kuwadzana fortress, for the second time, since the resumption of the second half of the campaign.
They settled for a stalemate on their return from the suspension last month.
Ngezi Under-19 are scheduled to host Harare City Cubs at Boabab this afternoon.
Simba Bhora entertain Chinhoyi Stars at Wadzanai.
Golden Eagles have what appears to be the easiest task when they welcome bottom-placed CAM & Motor at Ellis Robins tomorrow.
Chegutu Pirates are still battling for clearance to use Pfupajena.
