CAPS United coach Ian Bakala is likely to unleash some of his young players in tomorrow’s Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match against Ngezi Platinum Stars at Baobab.

Bakala believes some young players in his team are now ready to start some games after proving that coming in from the bench against TelOne at Rufaro.

However, Makepekepe only managed a goalless draw against TelOne and Bakala seems ready to make the changes.

“I am pleased with how the players applied themselves. Everyone pushed hard, including the young boys who came on — they did well, and that’s good for the team,” said Bakala.

“I am particularly happy for the younger players; they handled the pressure. I believe they are now ready to start in these kinds of matches.

“We have a big team and everyone will have an opportunity as they are all ready for the challenge.”

On Saturday, Injury to striker Chris Magalu, who had to be taken to the hospital after Saturdays’ game, necessitate for one of the changes.

Magulu had to be attended to for over 15 minutes after a nasty challenge from TelOne defender Admire Dzumbunu.

He was replaced by Jayden Bakare who had a decent game, with Junior Bunjira also coming in for skipper Phineas Bamusi.

Another player who came in, Tendai Matindife, changed the complexion of the game with his moves after he replaced Ishmael Wadi.

Bissila Mabiala also had his bright moments after coming in for Nyasha Chintuli.

Bakala is shifting focus to the Madamburo encounter.

“Our last game against TelOne was not an easy game as the team, was doing very well. But I am happy we did not concede and managed to get a point.

“We need to go back to the drawing board and try and win the upcoming match away to Ngezi. We have to focus on the upcoming game against a team that is doing well.”

The former Zambian international has transformed the Green machine since taking over the reins from Lloyd Chitembwe.

Bakala has now gone for five games unbeaten as their last defeat came against MWOS when they were beaten 2-1 away at Ngoni.

In his 11 matches in charge since taking over, Bakala has lost twice, drawn five times and won three times.

Takesure Chiragwi’s Ngezi Platinum Stars have been having some ups and downs, winning three, drawing one and losing twice in their last six matches.

At the weekend they came out with a point against in-form Triangle at Gibbo.
