Your life is in your hands

Cool Talk Me Up with Swag Mama
Do you ever feel like your life is on a train going the wrong way and you just cannot stop it?  Are you caught up in doing some things that you would like to stop but somehow you find it just impossible? Would you like to turn over a new leaf but find yourself back in the same old ways?
There are many bad places that a teen can find themselves stuck in. And it looks like you have a one way ticket to hell with no hope of ever getting money for the return trip. It could be that you are dating a person that you know is definitely wrong for you, like a much older and married person.

You could be doing drugs and alcohol which are affecting your promising athletics or academic career.

It could be sexual relationships that you keep on finding yourself in, in spite of repeated resolutions to abstain.

Or maybe it is total disinterest in your school work which means you have poor marks even though you are really very intelligent and could be top of the class if you really put in the effort.

Whatever it is, the bottom line is that you know that you need to change your life because deep inside you really hate the person that you have become.

And you would rather return to that magic moment when you felt that your life was on the right road and you were going to conquer the world. And only you can do it, because your life is in your hands.

What you need is a strong determination to change and you can get your life back on track again.

First of all write down what it is that you want to achieve and how you are going to do it.

Also write down a list of the reasons why you think you are in a bad space right now to remind yourself why you should stick to the new you. Then cut all ties with the people who are into the stuff that you want to get out of and change your whole life.

There is no way you can lie to yourself that you can still go clubbing and avoid drinking when all your friends are doing it.

It might be necessary to change your mobile number and accounts on social networks like WhatsApp, Facebook and Viber.

You also need to find new activities that interest you so that you have little time to miss the old gang.

Give things like debate, scripture union and sport clubs a chance and you might find that you enjoy them more than you expected.

Go on, give your dreams a chance because it is definitely not too late for them to come true
