IN a move aimed at honouring the remarkable contributions of individuals, organisations, and institutions, the Cadav Organisation hosted its annual philanthropic awards to celebrate their impactful work.

Cadav is an association that works with the vulnerable and people living with disabilities.

The event took place at a local hotel on Saturday, with notable guests in attendance, including Dr Pastor Chaplain Nixon Kainga from the Good News Mission Church Zimbabwe, Cadav Executive Director Mr Lot Mudhimburanwa, and a representative from the Ministry of Social Welfare.

Among the organisations recognised for their efforts were Green Vision Trust, Albino Charity Organisation, Queen of Peace Organisation, Thompson Properties Private Limited, and MVPV (Men of Valour, Purpose, and Vision) Global Network.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms Loveness Mainato, founder of the Albino Charity Organisation, expressed her joy at receiving the Excellence in Community and Social Impact Award.

“I am a mother of two children living with albinism. After God blessed me with them, I chose to advocate for the needs of people with albinism,” she said.

She highlighted that the organisation supports individuals with albinism of all ages, extending its reach beyond Harare to marginalised communities nationwide.

Jonathan Thompson of Thompson Properties Private Limited shared similar sentiments upon being recognised for his firm’s community work.

“When facing hardship, it’s invaluable to receive support. If we have the means, let us do good for all,” he urged.

“Every day, we can make a difference. It doesn’t take much — be someone’s ray of sunlight, be their hero.”

Evangelist Eshwell Hove of the MVPV Global Network, awarded the Excellence in Community Empowerment and Positive Impact Award, echoed this enthusiasm.

He noted that men are often overlooked in society, perceived as familial pillars yet vulnerable to silent suffering.

“We’ve expanded regionally and internationally to ensure the boy child and men receive recognition. We’re grateful to sponsors and partners for acknowledging our efforts,” Hove said.

Cadav founder Mr Lot Mudhimburanwa explained that the awards, now in their fourth year, are driven by a desire to celebrate those driving community progress.

“While the Cadav Awards are currently limited to Zimbabwe, our registration permits international expansion. We aspire to host these accolades across the SADC region and beyond,” he revealed.
