Several youths from SADC countries will attend a conference in Harare from Thursday to Sunday to discuss innovative ideas they hope can drive success in the region.

The youths intend to present the outcome of the conference to the 44th SADC Summit in Harare in August.

The conference is being organised by International Youth Connect (IYC) in conjunction with Vision 2030 Movement, who will host the Southern African Youth Development Council programme.

Addressing journalists at a press conference in Harare on Tuesday, IYC spokesperson Mr Tamuka Hove, said the conference will gather innovative ideas from the youths for the attention of Heads of State and Government at the summit.

“Our focus areas encompass various sectors and industries, including smart governance, smart people, smart living, smart mobility, smart economy, smart environment, agriculture, finance, health, education, infrastructure development, ICT-engineering, and green energy,” he said.

“By encouraging collaboration and idea-sharing among young leaders, we can harness their collective potential to drive sustainable and inclusive growth across the SADC region.”
