Youth organised gala in Murambinda

ZBCTV for just two and half hours before it went off air.

This, however, did not go down well with viewers at home since it had become a tradition that all national galas are screened live on ZBCTV for not less than 10 hours. The gala was screened just after the ZBCTV news hour with Cde Chinx being the first to take to the stage.  As always, Cde Chinx performed favourite hits including Chikopokopo and Hondo

Yeminda. Highlands Nehanda group followed and  rocked the crowd with their kongonya dances.
Other musicians who performed include Tryson Chimbetu, Tembo Brothers, Bob Nyabinde, Tambaoga as well as a local group called Mboko. Gospel musician Blessing Shumba was one of the crowd’s favourites.

When Sungura ace Alick Macheso took to the stage he opened his set with yesteryear hit Mundikumbuke and whipped fans into a frenzy with his guitar skills.  His act, however, ended prematurely after the live screening was switched off.
