Preservation of history is key and it should be guarded jealously, the Zimbabwe National Youths Services said after touring the Liberation City which is housing the Museum of African Liberation in Warren Park.
In a statement after the tour, head of delegation Cde Calvern Chitsunge, said it came at a time when the Second Republic is walking on the talk on each promise that has enshrined in the 2018 manifesto.
“The Museum of African Liberation not by coincidence in Zimbabwe that it is located where it is but its locality is deemed as the epicentre of Africanism.
“The main mandate of the Zimbabwe National Youth Service Graduates Association is to defend the revolution and also to safeguard it jealously,” he said.
Cde Chitsunge said the Zimbabwe National Youth Service Graduates Association is a group of trained cadres who underwent Ministry of Youth training back then in 2001 to date.
He said there are more than 120 000 graduates who are happy about the development and the progress that has been taking place so far at the Museum of African Liberation.
“We will never fold back when threat is imminent, hence our 24/7 on guard,” he said.
“We will defend our hard won independence and assure the next generation that, with the current leadership of President Mnangagwa, the future is bright and they asked for the National Youth Service training be resumed as it produces outright and patriotic citizens.”
The Zimbabwe National Youths Service Graduates Association members, National Executive members and the Supreme Council were among the dignitaries that toured the Liberation City in Warren Park.
