Youths in Mash East form empowerment Trust

Herald Reporter
A newly formed youth group in Mashonaland East, the ME Youth Development Trust, says it is targeting to empower young people in the province with life changing skills.

Formed by youths from across the province, Me Youth Development Trust, aims to become an empowerment vehicle that will produce recognisable businessmen and women over the years.

The Me Youth Development Trust will be chaired by son of the late Transport minister Joel Biggie Matiza, Batsirai.

In an interview Mr Matiza said the organisation will have representatives from the provinces nine districts namely Chikomba, Goromonzi, Marondera, Mudzi, Murehwa, Mutoko, Seke, Uzumba-Maramba-Pfungwe and Wedza.

“Youths in the province need inclusion and I am happy to be part of the Trust as it provides young people in the region with a platform to be heard. We would like to empower the youths through various ventures such as provision of mining equipment,” said Mr Matiza.

The organisation has already empowered youths in Goromonzi as it puts shoulder to the wheel in contributing to the realisation of President Mnangagwa’s Vision 2030, to create an upper-middle-class.

The initiative also dovetails with President Mnangagwa’s development model that leaves no one or no place behind.
