Dreaming is good, but waking up and fulfilling your dreams Is better. It all starts by waking up and remind yourself of your purpose here on earth, your identity. You can’t be that person who always sleeps and expect dreams to come into reality whilst you can’t wake up.
It’s a good thing to dream but for our dreams to come true, there’s a need for us to be awake, to come back to life, and be in action. Dreams will never come true when you remain asleep. God might have called you to make a difference in this world but because of fear, doubt, and present circumstances we fail to cooperate with God. We end up failing to even recognize his presence in our lives, in the process of losing our identity.
Someone once said “Eyes are useless if the mind is blind.” God has given us the eyes to see. And from what l have learned and known biologically, it is said the eye is the most active organ found on the human body. But today l have my own view, which is “Someone can have the eyes to see but still can’t see anything.” Ok, what l am saying? We all have eyes but not all eyes are awake and they are functioning. You might have sight and have the ability to see anything around you but you won’t be seeing anything. You will only be looking at what your mind already knows. I believe it all starts with opening and calling our minds to life so that our eyes may be able to distinguish between open doors with opportunities and open doors with nothing but destruction.
It all starts by training your mind to be able to pick what is useful first before picking up the wrong things. Your mind is a machine that gives meaning to what the eyes see.
So, if your mind is not able to distinguish the bad and the good then it will blind the eyes even if your eyes can see. It starts by feeding your mind with words of wisdom. Words filled with life. Being in places that allow your mind to grow and learn the aspects of life. If you cage your mind with useless words, ideas then obviously it will act according to what it is feeding on.
Life is full of challenges; opportunities and it needs an open and well-trained mind to remain on the right path. For you to live the life you’ve ever cherished and wanted you to have to come back to life, wake up from your sleep.
Train your mind. Get out of your comfort zone. Be ready to take risks. Be curious about knowing new ideas and words. Be prepared to go through fire and ice. Be open to those who want to teach you and those who want to tease you. That’s life either you earn or you learn.
Life is not a garden of roses either a place where honey and milk flows. But it is full of challenges, adversities, hardships which need to be dealt with.
You need to wake up and learn from your failures – that is life.
Beforehand you made a mistake but never allow that mistake to keep on cycling in your mind over and over again because it will blind your eyes to see better opportunities it will make you live your life with regrets rather than a life of greatness.
Dismiss your past mistakes. Some people live and learn some only live. Would you want to be that person who only lives without learning and earning?
How will you become better if you’re not waking up and realising your mistakes and use them as your stepping blocks rather than stumbling blocks? Failure is a teacher if we have the right attitude and if we are wide awake and open-minded to learn and accept our mistakes. Wise people learn from their mistakes- experience is the name they give to slip-ups.
Define the problem better. Don’t allow it to define who you are. Your past mistakes and failures are not supposed to define you but they are supposed to refine you and divert you back into the right path.
Analyse the situation-what you want to achieve, who you want to be in life, what your strategy is, why it didn’t work. That’s life. It needs your mind and your eyes to be opened and see the best out of every bad situation. That’s how you going to make it in life.
Being awake in life starts by having a well-disciplined behavior. Are you disciplined enough for you to go where life is calling? Are you disciplined enough to embark on a journey to success? It starts by being a person with discipline because all the principles and rules you will meet on the way needs a disciplined candidate for you to master them and follow them well enough without breaking any.
Discipline takes self-control, sacrifice, and avoiding distractions and temptations. It all starts by knowing what you want to achieve in life. If you know what you want then obviously you
will be disciplined because if you’re not, you might become who you dreamt of but your success will wither away with no time because of lacking self-control. Discipline means staying focused. Don’t be a purist.
You might have an idealised vision of what success will look and feel like. Although that alone can be motivational, it might not be realistic. Succeeding at one goal won’t eliminate all your problems. Be clear on what will satisfy your objectives and don’t obsess about superficial details. Monitor well your discipline and your discipline alone will monitor and attract success in your life.
Choose a positive attitude over a stoical attitude and a negative attitude. You have only one life and it is going to be all you want it and this must begin with your attitude because that is the starting point. You’ve got to get your attitude right, since life is filled with a host of things you cannot control the one thing you can control is your attitude. Fatalistic attitude prevents people from accepting responsibility for their position in life. They attribute success and failure to luck. They resign themselves to their fate, regardless of their efforts, that whatever has happened will happen anyway.
Look in the mirror every day and say, “I am in charge.” You might not have control over every phase in your life but you have more control than you can realize and you’re responsible for your happiness and success. You can’t control everything. What you can control is your attitude. You get to choose how you will respond, how you will think, how you will act concerning what happens to you in your life.
A positive attitude will help you in many, many ways. Note that I am not saying everything in your life can be changed by being positive. No l am saying that many things can be changed for the better. I am saying that if you want your life to be good then be willing to control your attitude. Your attitude determines your altitude.
In conclusion, as the young generation of today in whatever area and aspect of your life, a waking up phase is needed. It might be in your business, in your job, in your academic work, in your family, in your relationship, in your marriage, on your journey of a purpose-driven life be awake and be attentive to what’s needed for you to keep on moving.
Life is waking with your mind and eyes open. Never be caught by those terrible events and moments whilst you’re asleep and folding your hands. The best way is to be prepared and fully equip yourself with weapons which will allow you to fight everything that will come on your way.
