BULAWAYO-BASED Amapiano artiste Desire Dube, popularly known as YungGlow Dzet, has won the Best Musician Award at the Zimbabwe Young Achievers Awards held in Harare.
The 24-year-old artiste, who is also a producer and DJ, received the accolade at a ceremony held at Hyatt Regency Harare The Meikles Hotel on Saturday.
YungGlow Dzet said the award was a major milestone in his career and a victory for Bulawayo’s creative sector.
“As an artiste representing Bulawayo and the Amapiano genre, this win is not just personal but a win for our community and the music scene in the city. I believe sharing this story will inspire other young creatives from Cowdray Park and across Bulawayo to pursue their dreams,” he said.
Born and raised in Cowdray Park, YungGlow Dzet began his musical journey in Bulawayo, attending Mkhithika Thebe Primary School and Cowdray Park High School.
He later ventured into music production, performing and DJing, establishing himself as one of the artistes contributing to the growth of Bulawayo’s Amapiano scene.
He released his debut project, Amapiano Republic: Days of Our Lives, in December 2023 before following it up with Amapiano Republic 2: Moods and Swings in April 2025.
His catalogue includes songs such as Abashwe, featuring B.O Ntonga, Ngithanda Wena, featuring Dokotela Wothandow, Dali, featuring Poplee, and She My Girl, also featuring Poplee.
YungGlow Dzet previously won the 2025 Best Alternative Artist award at the PRACA Awards and received nominations in categories including Best Amapiano/Houz/Gqom Artist, Best DJ Across All Genres and Best Duo/Group alongside Poplee.
He was also nominated for the 2026 Amaqhawanentaba FM Music Awards and reached the nominees stage of the 2026 Mzansi Traditional Music Awards.
The latest accolade has further boosted his ambitions of putting Bulawayo’s young creative talent on the national map as he continues to grow his career as an artiste, producer and DJ.
